Directorate General of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO)

“The Smile of the Child” became an official partner of the Directorate General of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO). In this context, “The Smile of the Child” will undertake actions of urgent humanitarian assistance to refugees in Greece in line with its longstanding principles with emphasis on the quality of its services, impact, and transparency.
 

The application of the Organization was submitted on 20/12/2016 following a thorough control and evaluation from DG ECHO in the areas of Administrative Adequacy, Financial Management, and Adequacy, Technical Adequacy, as well as Experience and Efficiency.
 

According to a decision of the European Council on 15/03/2016 for the provision of urgent humanitarian assistance within the European Union (“Emergency Support Regulation”, ESR), DG ECHO is providing funding to actions of assistance to refugees through official partners that have signed a Framework Partnership Agreement with the DG ECHO. Only International Organizations (Governmental and non-Governmental) such as the International Organization for Migration, the Red Cross, the Danish Refugee Council, Save the Children and others were up-to-date to this list.
