#YCreate - Voices for respect, celebrating difference and tackling hate

"The Smile of the Child" participates in the European project 'YCreate - Voices for respect, celebrating difference and tackling hate' which is a Strategic Partnership between Greece, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy and Cyprus for creativity in the field of Youth responded to Covid-19 pandemic and funded by the Erasmus + programme of the European Union.


‘YCreate’ brings together community arts and cultural sector grassroots organisations, non-formal education practitioners, and young creatives in Greece, the Netherlands, Cyprus and Italy to develop new participatory youth peer mentoring and learning methods on issues of counteracting hate speech and misinformation through cultural practice in youth work settings.


‘YCreate’ project focuses on equipping young people to counteract hate speech and violent behaviour, disinformation, and misinformation (offline and online) targeted at minorities and vulnerable communities through creative, arts-based, participatory, and digital activities that foster active citizenship and socially responsible actions.


Through this project, the partner countries will promote, connect and empower young people for civic and social participation at the local level, to engage them in active citizenship and solidarity among young people, and strengthen young people's sense of initiative in the social field and support their communities, while providing skills development through creativity and arts.


The project ‘YCreate - Voices for respect, celebrating difference and tackling hate’ has a duration of 24 months (30/06/2021-29/06/2023) and the following organizations participate as partners:

  • "The Smile of the Child" (Greece),
  • "Rinova Ltd" and "Collage Arts" (United Kingdom),
  • "Rozet" (Netherlands),
  • "MuLab" (Italy),
  • "Hope For Children CRC Policy Center" (Cyprus).
