You don't have to share personal information, your name, your email address or your phone number. or contact details. If you wish, the process remains anonymous If you do however wish to make any of the above information available, it would help us to contact you in case we need more information for your report, or to provide you support.
- We look carefully at the information in the report to identify information that suggests a risk to a child. We investigate whether the information relates to an immediate risk to the life or safety of a child. In addition, we seek to investigate information that is useful for the relevant authorities to act and identify the child at risk.
- If you have provided contact details and have agreed, a psychologist or social worker from Smile of the Child to provide support.
- If the information in the report is sufficient, we forward the report to the competent authorities for further investigation.
In cybertipline you can report incidents that happen to you while you are or while you were a child (under 18). In addition, you can report incidents that you know are happening to another child. Remember that if you or another child you know is in immediate danger, you should contact us through the SOS 1056 Hotline.
After a CyberTipline is made available to the public authorities, we do not always have access to next steps or outcomes, so we are unable to provide that information. However, if you provide your name and contact information, you may hear from a Smile of The Child psychologist or social worker, or from the public authorities (in case you hace agreed) if they have questions or need additional information related to your report.
No, you can answer what you know or what you feel comfortable sharing. Just remember that the more details you give, the more information will be available for review and investigation so that we can provide support to the child at risk and offenders can be identified by the relevant authorities.
For any information you can contact the SOS 1056 Ηotline, which is available 24/7, free of charge and anonymous. Psychologists and social workers are on hand to help you every step of the way.
After the report is completed, psychologists and social workers from Smile of the Child examine the information so that if it is sufficient it can be forwarded to the competent authorities. We do not have the right to take any other action to determine the validity of the information. The investigation of the report is carried out by the relevant prosecution and police authorities in cooperation with the relevant public bodies (e.g. municipal social services).
