The 2.5 years-old boy that was found alone in Larisa is under the protection and care of "The Smile of the Child" from the first hours of his identification. His parents and relatives are still missing.

In regards to the publication of the photos of a 2.5 year-old boy who was found wandering alone in the region of Larisa on the 5th of July "The Smile of the Child" would like to inform that the child is under the protection and care of the Organization from the first hours of his identification. At the same time, SIRENE International Network of Law Enforcement Cooperation was informed from the Missing Persons' Unit of the Hellenic Police and the Security Subdivision of Larisa in an effort to locate the parents and relatives of the child.

Through the Hellenic Police the photos of the 2.5 years-old boy of unknown identity were made public yesterday, on the 17th of August, in the framework of a relevant legal provision of the Larisa public prosecution of First Instance. The minor had been found by a citizen on the 5th of July 2017 at 11.30 am in good health, without any supervision and at immediate risk, wandering in the nearby area of the Metropolitan Holy Church of Saint Achilles in the city of Larisa.

This publicity is for a period of two (2) months and was deemed necessary as the full investigation of the case, the verification of the identity of the minor as well as his biological parents and the identification of the parents or any other close relative would be otherwise impossible or substantially difficult.
