Returning to school with joy & dignity:

Nationwide gathering of school supplies from "The Smile of the Child"

"The Smile of the Child" for yet  another year, organizes a nationwide campaign to collect school supplies for the children of families who are unable to meet the children’s  specific needs and invites us all to help to start the school year with dignity and smiles!

In a few days, school students and their families will be called upon to cover a multitude of expensive school supplies. And while for some families this time is a time of joy and renewal, for others it is a time of stress and anxiety about how they will be able to adequately meet the needs of their children.

Thanks to the valuable and touching donation of the people, "The Smile of the Child" last year met the needs of 3,130 students, providing them with the necessary school supplies!

The participation of all of us in this effort remains particularly important this year, given the difficult economic circumstances experienced by thousands of families and their children in our country.

"The Smile of the Child" through the Child & Family Support Centers that operate nationwide but also through the actions the Organization develops, daily and consistently supports thousands of children and their families who are or are threatened by poverty.

The school supplies we collect are:

● Elementary - high school - high school school bags

● Notebooks of 3-4 subjects

● Notebooks (blue and colored)

● School atlases (geographic and political)

● Temperas - Wax paints

● Drawing blocks - watercolors

● Markers - Wood paints

● Pencils

● Pen

● Erasers

● Scrapers

● Corrections

● Brushes

● Caskets

● Folders (large-small) and spare sheets

● Envelopes with rubber

● A4 paper

● Slides

● Glues (stick and liquid)

● Plasticine

● Transparent sticker to protect books

● Scissors

● Geometric instruments (rulers, protractors, etc.)

The collection of school supplies takes place at the Child and Family Support Centers of the Organization, in a total of 15 regions in Greece:
